A founding partner of the George Street Law Group, Chris practices in the area of corporate/commercial law providing legal advice and assistance to a broad range of businesses. Working with entrepreneurs, small family business and large private companies, Chris’ practice focuses on all aspects of business law, including start-up and incorporation, financing and secured transactions, mergers and acquisitions, reorganization, and corporate/commercial agreements. Chris has developed a particular expertise in private finance structures, alternative energy businesses and corporate planning for professional service providers.
Chris is a graduate of Queen’s University, where he received a B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science. He studied law and business at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business receiving both his J.D. and M.B.A. in 2006 prior to completing a L.L.M. focused on Banking and Finance Law in 2006. Chris summered, articled and practiced at a prominent national law firm in Toronto prior to working for several years as a banker focused on secured and structured lending for national and international hedge funds and alternate investment managers. Prior to the founding of the George Street Law Group in 2016, Chris also worked for another prominent Hamilton law firm.
Away from his time practicing law, Chris volunteers his time for a number of Hamilton organizations and, along with his wife Mara, loves (and hopes to survive) raising his two (soon to be three) young children.
