A founding partner of the George Street Law Group, David practices in the areas of charity and not-for-profit law, estates and trusts law, and corporate/commercial law.
David has many charitable and non profit organizations as his clients. He currently assists federal and provincial charities and not-for-profits in their transition to the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act and the Ontario Not-For-Profit Corporations Act, a topic on which he has lectured and written articles. He also helps organizations with incorporation, charitable registration, amendment of incorporating documents, CRA audits, amalgamation, merger, change of jurisdiction, continuance, dissolution, corporate governance, director or member disputes, donation agreements, agency agreements, and general business agreements.
David also assists clients with wills, powers of attorney for property and personal care, estate administration, and trusts. His corporate knowledge aids him in estate planning for clients with business corporations. David has expertise in the creation of specialized trusts, such as alter ego trusts, disability (ODSP) trusts, environmental land trusts, and employee benefits trusts.
David was called to the Bar in 2010. He attended Osgoode Hall Law School and received his Juris Doctor in 2009 and McMaster University where he received his Honours Bachelor of Commerce in 2006, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
